1. Estamos muy emocionados de que estés buscando casarte en nuestra iglesia.
Las Bodas se celebran todos los Sábados del mes a la 1:00pm y a las 3:00pm.
Estamos felices de acomodar una petición de boda en un viernes o un domingo si el calendario lo permite.

2. Una vez completado, alguien de la rectoría se pondrá en contacto con usted para confirmar la fecha y la hora solicitada.
¿CUÁNTO TIEMPO TENGO QUE ESPERAR PARA CASARME DESPUÉS DE REGISTRARME?
Se requiere un mínimo de 6 meses de planificación y preparación previa a la fecha de la boda.
¿PERTENEZCO A OTRA PARROQUIA PUEDO CASARME EN EL OLHFP?
No es necesario ser feligrés de OLHF para casarse en la parroquia.
¿PUEDE UN SACERDOTE/DIÁCONO DE MI PARROQUIA CELEBRAR LA CEREMONIA NUPCIAL EN EL OLHF?
Sí, puede pedir a su párroco o diácono que oficie su ceremonia de boda en la Parroquia OLHF.
SOY CATÓLICO PERO MI PROMETIDA NO LO ES
Al menos uno de los contrayentes debe ser católico romano, con el bautismo y la primera comunión completados.

* Certificados de Bautismo - deben ser emitidos y fechados dentro de los 6 meses de la fecha en que se van a casar.
* Certificación de Bautismo, Comunión y Confirmación - debe ser emitida y fechada dentro de los 6 meses de la fecha en que se van a casar.
* Declaración jurada de libertad para casarse - ambos novios deberán testificar su libertad para casarse. Se emitirá un formulario para que los padres o los familiares cercanos lo completen.
* No católico - los Cristianos bautizados deberán presentar un acta de bautismo.
* Licencia de Matrimonio Civil
* Certificado de Finalización del Curso de Preparación Matrimonial
* Certificado de Pre-Cana

¿TENGO QUE CASARME POR LO CIVIL ANTES DE MI BODA CATÓLICA?
Compre su licencia de matrimonio al menos uno, pero no más de 60 días antes de la ceremonia. Para obtener información sobre la compra de una licencia en el condado de Cook, por favor haga clic aquí. Aconsejamos a las parejas que comprueben los horarios de las oficinas gubernamentales con antelación, ya que los horarios han cambiado debido a Covid19.
¿QUÉ ES UNA DECLARACIÓN FORMAL DE NULIDAD Y QUÉ DEBE PROBARSE?
Una declaración formal de nulidad es una declaración de la Iglesia Católica Romana de que el matrimonio en cuestión no es una unión vinculante (sacramental) porque la relación carecía de al menos uno de los elementos mencionados anteriormente que son esenciales para un matrimonio válido según las enseñanzas de la Iglesia Católica.
- Debe probarse que cuando la pareja intercambió su consentimiento faltaba uno de esos elementos esenciales, aunque no fuera evidente para la pareja o para otros en ese momento.
- No niega que existiera una relación reconocida como matrimonio por la ley civil.
- No implica que la relación se iniciara con mala voluntad o falta moral.
- No afirma que los hijos de tales matrimonios sean ilegítimos.

Todos los católicos que se hayan casado previamente en la Iglesia Católica ante un sacerdote o diácono y dos testigos o que hayan recibido permiso de la Iglesia Católica para casarse en otro lugar.
- Todos los Cristianos Ortodoxos y miembros de la Iglesia Nacional Católica Polaca que se casaron previamente en su respectiva iglesia por su sacerdote.
- Todos los demás que se hayan casado previamente por lo civil o por cualquier iglesia y que ahora quieran casarse con un Católico en la Iglesia Católica o deseen que su actual unión civil con un Católico sea "bendecida" (convalidada) en la Iglesia Católica
- Todos los Cristianos Ortodoxos y miembros de la Iglesia Nacional Católica Polaca que se casaron previamente en su respectiva iglesia por su sacerdote.

7. Second & Third meetings with the Parish Priest. Discuss and Finalize any concerns and last minute details, such as paperwork and choosing the readings.
WHO CAN BE A WITNESS AND HOW MANY ARE NEEDED?
A witness is a person who can provide the Metropolitan Tribunal with information about the parties and their relationship. Ideally, a witness should be able to provide information about the time leading up to the marriage, the marriage itself and the reasons for the break-up of the marriage.
• Most persons, including family members, are eligible to be witnesses. Specifically excluded by Church law are confessors and minors and those with certain diminished mental capacities.
• The Metropolitan Tribunal discourages children of the parties (regardless of age), and the current or prospective civil spouse of either party to offer testimony, unless there is a grave reason.
• Both parties can submit the names of witnesses, and the Judge will contact them approximately four weeks after the parties are notified about the established grounds.
• It is suggested that a minimum of three witnesses should be submitted.
• It is important to make sure that the witnesses have agreed to cooperate prior to submitting their names and addresses. Failure of the witnesses to respond in due time is one of most common reasons for a delay in the processing of a case.
• Remind witnesses to keep copies of their testimony.
• If no witnesses are available, the judge may allow character references in order to attest to the truthfulness of one’s statements

WHAT IF I WANT TO HAVE MY CATHOLIC WEDDING IN A GARDEN, AT A HOTEL, OR ON A BEACH?
A Catholic wedding must be held in a Catholic Church before a priest and two witnesses.
CAN MY PETS BE PART OF THE CEREMONY?
No. Only humans can be a part of the sacred ceremony.
ARE UNITY CANDLES PART OF THE MASS?
Unity candles are not part of the catholic ritual, they are a tradition. It is not required, but you may certainly use one if you would like. Our Lady of the Holy Family Parish does not issue one. You can purchase one and bring it on the day of your rehearsal.

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN MUSICIANS TO THE WEDDING? BANDS OR A MARIACHI?
Yes, you can hire your own musician and cantor to play on your wedding day, approval from the Music Coordinator will be needed in advance.
Can I request my favorite song by pop artist?
Secular music is not allowed. There are many songs that refer to love or God that may not be appropriate for the Catholic liturgy. If you have any questions about music that is not on our recommended list of songs, our parish director of sacred music will assist you in determining what can be sung in the church and what should be played at the wedding reception.

Wedding Rehearsals are held on:
Wednesdays at 3:00pm & 4:00pm
Thursday Rehearsals must be approved.
Fridays at 3:00pm & 4:00pm

For Marriage Certificate Requests
Cook County Vital Records keeps official records of marriages that occur in Chicago and suburban Cook County.
A marriage license is filed with the Clerk's Bureau of Vital Records after the marriage ceremony takes place.
At the Parish the officiant presiding over the ceremony completes and signs the marriage license and mails it to the Clerk's office, the next business day- where it is recorded. After that occurs, the Clerk's office can issue you a certified copy of your marriage certificate upon request. Please note that Marriage certificates are not automatically sent to couples.
