Parish Staff

Pastor
Fr. Peter McQuinn

Picture
Hello, and welcome to the parish website of Our Lady of the Holy Family.  My name is Fr. Peter McQuinn, and I’m thrilled to be the pastor of our newly created and recently named parish.  I encourage you to look around the site to get to know us better.  During the upcoming year, we will be launching a variety of new ministries and worship opportunities to serve our community better and celebrate our Catholic Christian Faith.  I’m hopeful that these will blend well with the rich tradition of our Church and the unique history of the greater Little Italy neighborhood.
I was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1991 and have served in several parishes throughout Chicagoland.  Each assignment- be it in Humboldt Park, Little Village, Arlington Heights, or Bridgeport- was an honor and blessing.  I look forward to our journey together as we joyfully give witness to our Faith, share our love of Jesus Christ, and experience the love and mercy God has for us.  Our doors are open for you.  You are most welcome in our parish home.  I invite you to make Our Lady of the Holy Family your parish home as well.  Peace and love.  Fr Peter

Deacon Larry Sorce
Permanent Deacon

I grew up on the West Side of Chicago near Oak Park.  I am the oldest of the six children of Sam and Barbara Sorce.  My mom’s dad, Edwin Hubert, was raised in this neighborhood and attended school at Notre Dame Academy.  He and his family were French-speaking immigrants from Canada.  My dad’s parents were both born in Italy. My wife Laura and I moved to this neighborhood in 1985 after she graduated from Mundelein College where we met.  We have three children; Andrew (32), Anthony (31) and Angelo (28). I attended Quigley Preparatory Seminary North and Niles College of Loyola.  I am currently employed as a Project Supervisor for an environmental testing company in Elmhurst, IL.   I have been involved in church activities since my Catholic school days at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish.  That involvement carried through my seminary days and throughout my adult life.  For ten years I worked as a Youth Minister and Coordinator of Religious Education at several parishes. During that time, I also led Confirmation Retreats for the Catholic Youth Office (CYO) and served as an adjunct retreat director for Resurrection Center in Woodstock, IL.  I have been involved in liturgy, music ministry and served as a catechist and later as the Director of Religious Education for Notre Dame Parish. For the last four and a half years, I have been studying at the Institute for Diaconal Studies at the University of St. Mary of the Lake Seminary. I was ordained by Bishop Robert Casey as a Permanent Deacon for the Archdiocese of Chicago on September 26, 2020.  Our Lady of the Holy Family Parish is my first assignment. I am looking forward to my new role in our parish ministry.  This is a very exciting time to be part of our new parish and to face the new challenges in our Archdiocese.

Operations Director
Sarah Pelrine

My name is Sarah Pelrine and I am the Operations Director for Our Lady of the Holy Family.  For me, the ministry of this role is focused on being good stewards of our resources: of our people, our finances, and our properties. We are working to ensure that everything we have and do brings people closer to Christ. In my role, I am happy to support you in any questions you may have about our finances, facilities, and general operations. Thank you for the opportunity to work with the parish to share the Good News!

Parish Secretary
Diana Austin-Zuno

She can assist you with Sacramental Certificate Requests, Mass Intentions, Homebound Mail, Confirm In-person Attendance for Mass, Payments, Donations, and general information. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a lifelong Catholic resident of our community. Bilingual, English and Spanish. Diana can be contacted at the parish email OLHFParish@archchicago.org.

Director of Music
Catherine Foreman

I am so excited and honored to be on the staff at Our Lady of the Holy Family, serving as the Music Director of our newly created parish. I am a lifelong Catholic, originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I have been playing piano since I was a child, and earned my degree in Piano Performance from the University of Illinois at Chicago. It is such a blessing to have a profession that combines my love of music with the love and profound respect I have for our Catholic faith. I am hoping to form a children's choir and an adult choir down the line, and would love to have cantors participate and sing for Masses. If you are interested in participating in the Music Ministry, please feel free to contact me at cforeman@archchicago.org. I hope that music is a key element of bringing our newly created parish together and I am so grateful to be a part of it.
